So, who am I?

Nowadays, I worry less about the stresses of 9 to 5, spending more and more time behind a lens, and with my family.

Family, first and foremost in my world. Always will be. We love the outdoors, the sun and spending as much time as we can in natural areas. We don’t get to do it as much as we would like to, but we do as much as we can. Our aim it to do more outdoors.

Work; I am lucky enough to work in the realm of Biodiversity monitoring, and this allows me to travel a bit. Even though most of my time is spent behind a screen, I do get to go out and see the surrounds, and experience new places and cultures. That’s a bonus.

About 5 years ago I bought my first DSLR, a Canon 600D and a Canon 400mm f5.6. I spent most of my time chasing birds and wildlife – which turned out to be limiting my photography. After 2 years I upgraded to the Canon 70D, which was a far better camera then the 600D, but carrying this around with the 400mm and all the other associated bits and pieces was rather heavy. Eventually I traded it all in for an Olympus OM-D Em10mkII, the baby of the Olympus range. So far, I have had more success, and far more fun with this little mirrorless gem and its light weight lenses.

This blog is my new venture, about sharing my opinions, sharing my rants and sharing my opinions (which are usually disguised as rants!). Lets hope its fun
